Zim under 19 cricket team to play Scotland

THE ZIMBABWE under 19 cricket team will be looking to register at least a win in the group phase of the Under 19 World Cup when they face Scotland in a dead rubber this Saturday.
A painful defeat to Pakistan quashed the Zimbabwe under 19 cricket team’s hopes of booking a berth in the Super 8 of the under 19 Cricket World Cup following a 38 run loss to Pakistan on Wednesday.
While batting first, Pakistan posted 294-9, thanks to Mohammad Haris, who scored a vital 81-run innings.
Chasing the target of 295, the Dion Myers-led side could only score 256 and lost their second match of the tournament.
Following the loss to Pakistan, Zimbabwe’s focus will now be on their coming encounter against Scotland as the Prosper Utseya coached side seeks to end the group campaign with at least a win.
The primary target heading to the World Cup was at least a place in the Super 8 but successive defeats to Bangladesh and Pakistan saw that dream fade away.
The Zimbabwe – Scotland encounter will be played at the Witrand Oval in Potchefstroom, South Africa on Saturday.
