Destination Zimbabwe continues to receive major endorsements after Ethiopian Airlines announced plans to launch flights to the City of Bulawayo beginning on the 30th of October this year.
Under Zimbabwe’s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy One, the local tourism industry is a major building block as a low hanging fruit towards Vision 2030.
The announcement by Ethiopian Airlines that it will be adding Bulawayo as its third Zimbabwean destination city after Harare and Victoria Falls has given the country’s tourism sector a major endorsement as air connectivity is critical in the growth of the industry.
It is in this context that the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe is elated about this latest development, saying it will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing and driving economic benefits for Brand Zimbabwe.
“As the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe, we are really excited about the addition of Bulawayo as the third destination city by Ethiopian Airlines as it will help in the smooth movement of our tourists in exploring natural wonders that are abound within our country,” said Mr Wengai Nhau, Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe president.
The tourism industry is the Second Republic’s Trojan horse on its re-engagement and engagement drive, a precursor to sustainable economic reconstruction towards an upper middle income society by 2030.
