Zimbabwe has been elected as chairperson of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Regional Conference for Africa, with focus being on reviewing the nutrition security structure.
Dr Anxious Masuka, who is Zimbabwe’s minister for Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement minister, will chair the organisation’s Regional Conference for Africa.
Zimbabwe is hosting the virtual 31st session of the FAO regional conference which started this Monday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the conference, Dr Masuka pledged to position the FAO regional system in line with climate resilience systems.
Some of the key issues at the three-day conference include building resilient food and agriculture systems, climate mitigation policies, transboundary pest and diseases, conflicts and economic downturns.
