A local sports administrator, Abednigo Mashuka is breaking new ground after landing a top post at the International Federation of American Football-Africa.
He was appointed Director of Competitions at the International Federation of American Football-Africa (IFAF-Africa).
The appointment was announced by the International Federation of American Football President Richard Maclean on the 16th of this month.
A visibly elated Mashuka expressed his readiness and desire to take Africa sport to the next level.
“I feel honoured to be given such a huge post. It means more responsibilities and I am willing to take Africa in as far as sport is concerned to the next level. I promise to bring quality international competitions for Africa as part of IFAF’s development strategy. Hopefully, we will be able to host some of the regional and international tournaments here in Zimbabwe,” Mashuka said.
Mashuka, who is the Zimbabwe American Football Federation Chief Executive Officer, becomes the first African to occupy such a powerful post in the history of the game
The appointment will see Mashuka taking charge of all American football competitions in Africa.
