RUSSIA says it will continue to deepen relations with Zimbabwe in pursuit of a world order that respects and honours the United Nations Charter.
Emerging from a closed door meeting with the Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda this Friday, Russia’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Nikolai Krasilnikov said they deliberated on the two nations bilateral relations and establishment of a new world order in adherence to the dictates of the United Nations Charter.
“We deliberated on our existing bilateral relations and ways we can deepen them,” he said.
The Russian top envoy further applauded the support rendered to his country by Zimbabwe in the ongoing Special Military Operation in Ukraine.
“Today I had another opportunity to express the gratitude of the Russian federation to Zimbabwe for the strong support my country received in terms of countering the West actions against Russia,” he added.
Zimbabwe and Russia share deep historical relations that date back to the days of the liberation struggle, while in contemporary times the two countries continue to relate in areas of education, mining, agriculture and pharmaceutical research.
