Zim kickboxing team builds up for Africa champs

THE Zimbabwe Kickboxing Federation has come up with a 25 member delegation to participate at the 2022 African Continental Kickboxing Championship to be held in South Africa later this month.

22 males and three females are fine tuning their act ahead of the continental kick boxing tournament set for South Africa.

Zimbabwe was invited to participate at the 2022 African Continental Kickboxing Championship which will run from the 26th to the 28th of this month.

The Leg Hunters are raring to keep their powerhouse tag and top the medals table.

“Our preparation is now at an advanced stage and we have built a strong team of 25 kickboxers comprising of 3 females and 22 males. Our expectations ahead of the tournament are for us to harvest medals and we are going to showcase that we are powerhouse of Kickboxing in Africa.

“The team was participating in local games, countries friendly matches and regional tournaments so we are fully geared up,” said Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association President, Tony Kamangira.

Zimbabwe will be joining 26 other African countries that include Nigeria, Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritius, Namibia, Sierra Leone and the hosts, South Africa.
