ZIMBABWE is expecting improved tourist arrivals from Spain and other European source markets this year as it intensifies marketing efforts through participating at the Fitur Tourism Expo which kicks off in Madrid next week.
The global showcase provides a window for Zimbabwe to sell it’s products to the international market and enhances the visibility of the brand.
The Firtur Tourism Expo is an annual event that attracts global tourism industry leaders and business executives for the critical exchange of ideas aimed at growing the performance of the sector.
The Expo has become one of the biggest tourism fairs worldwide and number one on the Iberian Peninsula. The fair is also considered the most important gateway to the Latin American market. On the whole, the event serves as a global communication platform in order to develop future strategies taking into account the changes in consumer demand and thus generally to promote the tourism business
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Givemore Chidzidzi says the Fitur Tourism meeting offers a conduit for the country to boost arrivals from Spain.
Zimbabwe’s tourism sector is also eyeing to buttress its position within the American market through participating at the New York Times Travel Show in the United States of America that also begins next week.
