Zimbabwe and Algeria have re-affirmed commitment towards rejuvenating their Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC).

The relations that exist between Zimbabwe and Algeria continue to provide a fertile ground for new areas of cooperation that extend to education, mining and research.

Emerging from a courtesy call on Vice President, General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga at his offices in Harare this Wednesday, Algerian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Nourredine Yazid said the fourth session of the Zimbabwe-Algeria Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) will look into areas of further cooperation.

“Our two countries maintain excellent political relations that should be consolidated through the development of economic and trade relations. Our cooperation should be extended to other sectors of interest to both countries taking advantage of the already existing relations,” he said.

Dr Chiwenga re-affirmed that the historic relations need economic integration for the mutual benefit of the two sister republics.

“We have come far and indeed historic relations need economic ties to be further deepened and maintained. We have discussed areas of cooperation that include education, research, mining, health and others,” said the Vice President.

Zimbabwe continues to develop strong ties with different countries under its engagement and re-engagement agenda.
