By ZBC Reporter

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Technical Development Committee has taken the Warriors technical department to task after receiving their reports on the team’s poor performance at the COSAFA tournament.

The Technical Development Committee (TDC) evaluated the Warriors’ performances over the last six months, a period during which the national football team won just one match in six outings.

The committee which is chaired by Brighton Malandule also delved into the issue of discontent in the technical department.

We interviewed the coaches one by one to have an understanding of how things are and also hear how they are working. It is important to note that we gave the technical team a mandate to qualify for the World cup and also make sure that we go and compete at AFCON, qualification alone is not enough,he said.

The Technical Development Committee is made up of respected coach and former Zifa Technical Director Nelson Matongorere, current Technical Director Wilson Mutekede,Wisdom Simba, Stan Nyachowe and Southern Region Chairman Andrew Tapela.

The ZIFA executive committee, which is expected to meet this Saturday, is vested with the powers to act on the deliberations, while the Malandule-chaired committee only makes recommendations.
