Zanu PF Youth League mourns Rtd. Lt. Gen. Moyo

THE Zanu PF Youth League has sent a message of condolence following the death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Lieutenant General (RTD) Dr Sibusiso Moyo.
Describing him as “The soldier who brought glad tidings” “Musoja wekuverenga news dzinofadza”, the Zanu PF Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Tendai Chirau said they received the news of the untimely demise of Dr Moyo with pain and anguish.
“In pain untold, we convey our most heartfelt condolences to the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF and State President, His Excellency Cde ED Mnangagwa, the Moyo family and the entire Zimbabwean nation. Death has robbed us of a true patriot who served his country with distinction. The Youth League mourns with you and celebrates the extraordinary life of this remarkable soldier, father and diplomat who devoted his life to raising high the banner of our nation,” reads the statement.
Cde Chirau noted that“SB”, as he was popularly known to a rapidly growing legion of admirers, was a dependable, forthright cadre who combined his academic prowess with unshakeable ideological principles which made him a man of integrity.
“Ever young at heart, he was in many respects an inspiration to many youths, who he always passionately counselled not to be enticed by ephemeral pieces of silver at the expense of our enduring legacy of freedom and self-determination,” he said.
The Zanu PF Youth wing said a veteran of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, and a loyal soldier of the nascent democracy, Cde SB’s love for his nation saw him emerge in 2017 as one of the key players in the epic Operation Restore Legacy, a daring enterprise which rescued Zimbabwe from sponsored state capture by G40 quislings.
“He will indeed be widely remembered as the Operation’s frontispiece in military fatigues who bravely broke the sweet news of its success on national television. Like the soldier that he was, he stood firm to restore peace and bring normalcy to a country that was precariously on the cusp of anarchy, effectively making himself one of the key faces in President ED Mnangagwa’s new dispensation.”
Dr Moyo died early Wednesday morning due to Covid-19 related complications.
