THE ZANU PF Youth League is lobbying for young people to be given priority in empowerment programmes being availed by government in various economic sectors.

ZANU PF youths from Mashonaland Central province converged at Nzvimbo Growth Point this Sunday as part of the youth league’s outreach programme.

ZANU PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde John Paradza said economic opportunities should be easily accessible for youths in the mining and agriculture sectors which anchor the provincial economy of Mashonaland Central.

“There are places where our youths were earning a living and these have been closed so we have discussed with the chairman that they should be re-opened for the youth to engage in mining activities. We also want the youth to be included in the Pfumvudza program because some of our youths have families to feed,” he said.

ZANU PF Youth League National Political Commissar Cde Tsungai Makumbe and Mashonaland Central Youth Chairman Cde Edward Raradza gave assurances that youths are backing President Emmerson Mnangagwa in next year’s election.

“Yes, the youth should be empowered and on our part, we are ready to vote for ZANU PF. We are ready for a resounding youth vote,” noted Makumbe.

The ZANU PF Youth League executive elected two months ago, has been on a nationwide tour engaging young people on various national issues and mobilising support for the 2023 elections.
