THE Zanu PF Women’s League has intensified its empowerment drive in the Harare East constituency, with a multitude of women acquiring life skills.

The ruling party is living no stone unturned to emancipate its citizenry through training programmes for manufacturing detergents, perfumes and sanitisers, among other things.

Beneficiaries from Harare East constituency are convinced the programme will transform their lives for the better.

Zanu PF Harare East Candidate, Mavis Gumbo indicated that similar programmes are on the way adding that they are not limited to Zanu PF supporters.

“We do not intend to focus on income generation only but recreational spaces for our people that they have lacked,” she said.

Zanu PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Mabel Chinomona highlighted the need for women to embrace empowerment programmes.

“We want the programme to reach all parts of the country, so far we have covered five provinces, here it’s the sixth but the bottom line is women should work, we have the microfinance bank to support them,”  said Cde Chinomona.

The ruling party has in the recent past launched several women empowerment programmes including bakeries, livestock and poultry schemes which have been useful in the generation of income for communities.
