Zanu PF supports NPC’s decision to improve Hong Kong’s electoral system

THE ruling party, Zanu PF has extended its support to the People’s Republic of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) decision to improve the electoral system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The revolutionary party notes that the move is an important step in protecting the democratic rights of the public and freedom enjoyed by Hong Kong residents and the long term peace and prosperity of Hong Kong.
In a statement, the Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo applauded the China’s NPC for the positive steps they have taken to date to improve the electoral system of the HKSAR.
“In support of the decision, Zanu PF has taken note of the fact that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China, that the electoral system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, its design, development and improvement falls entirely under China’s internal affairs.
“Equally as a revolutionary party, we unequivocally call upon some Western countries that have expressed some disquiet on this development through some media challenging China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity to stop such unbridled meddling,” read the statement.
Cde SK Moyo said as Zanu PF, they support China’s practise of one country, two systems on Hong Kong and once again calls for an immediate stop of external meddling that incites rifts and violence in Hong Kong. The party urged the People’s Republic of China to remain bold, resilient and steadfast against any machinations.
