Zanu PF Matabeleland North has pledged its total support for the massive investment projects being implemented in the province for the benefit of communities and the country at large.
This Saturday, Zanu PF Matabeleland North held a Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Lupane where a frank discussion on the investment projects taking shape in the province took centre stage.
The party’s Secretary for Administration Dr Obert Mpofu warned errant members who seek to scuttle projects meant to benefit communities in the province.
All government facilitated investment programmes coming here are welcome. We love them. Do not be found opposing them for your own misguided intentions. They are meant to benefit Communities in the province,he said.
Coming hard on the heels of recent occurrences at Dinde that have seen a man jailed for threatening to disturb a coal exploration project in the area, party members were urged to be vigilant against elements only interested in destabilising the national economic agenda.
With the meeting inaugurating the District Coordinating Committees, the party also laid out its plan for the mobilisation programme ahead of the constituencies delimitation exercise.
I call for discipline and vigilance among our members. Let us mobilise many registered voters so that we do not lose constituencies, added Mpofu.
With five constituencies in Matabeleland North falling short of the 22 thousand registered voters requirement for a single constituency, the party is thus on a voter registration drive so as to retain the constituencies when the delimitation exercise is rolled out.
