Preparations for the 19th Zanu Pf Annual National People’s Conference have received a major boost after the party received tonnes of food stuffs from the Grain Millers Association Zimbabwe.

Handing over a donation of 15 tonnes of mealie meal, 3 tonnes of rice and 4000 loaves of bread to be distributed at the 19th Zanu PF annual people’s conference, Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe Chairman Tafadzwa Musarara applauded the agriculture policies set by government for driving a flourishing grain milling industry.

“It is public knowledge that the ministry works well with the President and we have supported his agriculture programmes since 2016, particularly Command Agriculture, where we came up with wholesale assistance to offtake whatever has been grown.

“Those policies come from a political part and we are not ashamed to donate to the ruling party. We have been doing it for the past twenty years,” said Musarara.

Zanu PF Mashonaland Central Chairman Cde Kazembe Kazembe said the gesture from grain millers and other corporates that have been forthcoming to assist hosting of the conference cements that Zimbabwe is open for business.

He said: “You can see the mood from the corporate world, that’s why our preparations have been hugely successful. Again, it shows that Zanu PF is a party of the people, everyone wants to be a part of it, everyone wants to play a role. In fact, we are inundated with calls from the corporate world.”

Meanwhile testing of the virtual platform to be used during the Zanu PF conference is underway and both centres in Bindura are now connected to fibre optic cables.

Forty laptops have also been availed to various centres to aid in virtual connectivity.
