Youths’ sport event for six political parties

YOUTHS from different political parties converged at Belvedere Teachers College in Harare for an Africa Day inter-party sports day organised by youth development and mentoring organisation, 4H Zimbabwe.

Running under the theme, Sports for Peace and Political Tolerance in Zimbabwe, the full-day event was held in the capital on Africa Day.

ZANU PF, CCC and MDC-T were among the six political parties that battled it out on the sports field.

“We are happy with the turnout firstly then also the tolerance here, this is the message that we hope the youths will carry as leaders of tomorrow and I think some people can also learn from the way people have been respecting each other despite different political affiliations,” said John Muchenje, national director of 4H Zimbabwe.

Running with the old age idea of everyone is a winner, the day truly lived up to its billing after parties contested in football, netball, basketball, tennis and volleyball games.
