The Zimbabwe under-19 cricket team had a false start to their World Cup campaign in South Africa after losing their opener by 9 wickets to Bangladesh this Saturday afternoon after the Duck Lewis Method.
The Young Chevrons who ignited hope ahead of the junior cricket extravaganza when they dismissed South Africa and New Zealand in a Quadrangular series which ended on Thursday found the going tough in their tournament opener at the on-going International Cricket Council (ICC) 2020 Under 19 Cricket World Cup losing to Bangladesh by 9 wickets after the Duck Lewis (DLS) method.
After losing the toss, Zimbabwe batted first and scored an impressive 137 for after 28.1 overs but failed to defend their performance allowing Bangladesh to reach 132 for 1 in 11.2 overs as the match had to be decided through the DLS method after it was disturbed by the rains.
Zimbabwe will be hoping to come back when they face Pakistan in their second encounter on Wednesday.
