Women’s participation key in achieving Vision 2030

THE ZANU-PF Women’s League has called for continued participation of women in order to make Vision 2030 a practicable reality.
In a statement issued this Thursday, Zanu PF women’s league secretary, Mabel Chinomona said as Zimbabwe celebrates women’s month, the government under the stewardship of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has adopted an inclusive and multi-stakeholder approach to attain a middle income status (economy) by 2030 with women at the centre of all development initiatives.
“The ZANU-PF Women’s League calls for the continued participation of women in order to make Vision 2030 a practicable reality,” she said.
She emphasised the Women’s League’s commitment ensure the government achieves the country’s sustainable gender equality aspirations.
“The women’s league pledges to continue the fight for 50/50 gender representation through equitable policies at all levels and across all sectors in pursuit of total political and socio-economic empowerment for every woman by 2030,” pledged Chinomona.
The month of March is Dedication to celebrating women globally. The global theme for this year is:”I am Generation Equality: Realising women’s rights” and for Zimbabwe “Beijing +25: The journey towards women empowerment in Zimbabwe: Successes and Challenges.”
