THE First lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’s nationwide campaign to transform livelihoods is bearing fruit with Women from Tsholotsho embarking on successful agricultural projects.

The people of Tsholotsho have been given a new lease of life with thriving farming projects clear evidence of the change of fortunes which have come with support from the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa.
There is even anticipation of a bumper harvest this summer cropping season anchored on successful sorghum and millet crops after women in the area received inputs from the first lady while the rains have also been good.

“Iprograme leyi yinsimu leyi esayenzelwa ngumama.silimile njengabomama siyi 15 , silimile inyawuthi, amabele lomumbu, imbambayila lokunye. Esizakuthola khonapha yikho okuzadiphilisa okunye sizakusheya lama orphans and vulnerables khonapha eTsholotsho district..,” she said.

Besides targeting household food security, the project will also enable the women to sell part of the produce and earn a living.

Part of the proceeds will also be given to vulnerable groups, an initiative which the First Lady has also championed across the country through the Angel of Hope Foundation.

The women have also benefited from a number of projects after receiving sewing machines for producing masks and contribute to the fight against Covid-19.

They also embarked on other projects which include goat and chicken rearing.
