MINISTER of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa says Zimbabwe has achieved a lot in terms of gender equality adding that gender equality is no longer a human rights issue but a developmental issue.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the women political leaders global forum in Davos, Switzerland, Minister Mutsvangwa said it is important to bring women on board on issues to do with national development as they play a critical role in every sector.
She said Zimbabwe is one of the six countries in the world that has a constitution that talks about gender equality adding that so far 60 seats in parliament are set aside for women.
Senator Mutsvangwa who is part of the Zimbabwean delegation that is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, is a member of the International Women Political Leaders Organization which is having sessions at this year’s forum.
