Warriors maintain same position in FIFA rankings

THE Zimbabwe senior men’s national team, the Warriors, have remained glued on 111th position on the World FIFA Rankings released this Thursday.
FIFA has announced the latest rankings of the world’s footballing nations despite international inactivity on the field of play, owing to COVID-19.
The Zimbabwe Warriors remained unmoved on the 111th position with 1180 points, while Senegal who seat on position 20 globally continue to top the African rankings.
Tunisia are second on the continental standings, while Nigeria, Algeria and Ghana complete the top five list in Africa.
The Warriors were supposed to play Algeria in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the end of last month before COVID-19 took its toll on all international fixtures across the globe, resulting in their suspension.
Belgium continue to top the world rankings on 1765 points, while France is on the second position with 1733 points. Brazil, England and Uruguay are the other countries to complete the top 5 list on the global rankings. South Sudan are the only notable movement on the list, moving one place up to position 168 on 983 points.
