TWO people died, while 14 were seriously injured in an accident involving a Stallion Cruise bus and a haulage truck in Masenyane area along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway this Sunday morning.
According to the officer commanding Lupane District, Chief Inspector Laxmore Dube, the accident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, took place when the Stallion Cruise bus rammed into the haulage which was carrying coal.
The injured were all taken to the nearby St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane, while the bodies of the deceased were retrieved from the wreckage.
As police continue to ascertain facts surrounding the accident, they have warned motorists to avoid night driving if possible, to carry danger warning signs in the event of breakdowns and to exercise extreme caution on the Byo-Victoria Falls highway due to uncontrolled livestock movement especially at night.
