The Vadzidzi VaJesu Apostolic Church says President Emmerson Mnangagwa was ordained by God and should ignore the voice of detractors opposed to his development-oriented leadership.

The church members were speaking at their annual convention underway at Goora in Shamva district this Thursday.

“You always say the country is built by its people. We say the church is built by its people. This year alone, we have progressed regards development. You were ordained by God. Madzibaba Maginesta gave you a rod and blessed you. If you hear people saying negative things let them be,” said Shepherd Chingwena of the Johane Masowe Vadzidzi.

ZANU PF National Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri, who is also the Minister of Defence and War Veterans affairs commended the church for its unwavering support for the ruling party.

“What has touched me is that these people we have gathered for are ZANU PF and they have been since its formation. They were there from the liberation struggle. As you know, this province is where the liberation struggle started,” she said.

Attention was also drawn to the church’s infrastructure development projects which are complementing government efforts.

Senator Monica Mavhunga, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Mashonaland Central province said, “We work well with this church. They have built a high school, a clinic and are building a primary school.”

Vadzidzi VaJesu Apostolic Chuch was formed in 1931 and is led by Mudzidzi Magodhi, who

took over after the death of Mudzidzi Wimbo in 2018.
