Unrepentant robber jailed for 7 years

An unrepentant robber who was recently released from prison through the presidential amnesty has proven that old habits die hard after being slapped with a 7-year jail term for robbery and theft barely two months after his release.
22-year old Linos Tendai Chirinda, who was serving a six-year jail term for robbery and was recently released through an amnesty meant to decongest prisons, proved to be unrepentant after being jailed again for a similar offence as his previous conviction.
Chirinda who was facing robbery and two counts of theft charges was slapped with a 7-year jail term for the three offences when he appeared before a Nyanga court.
According to the court case, on the 3rd of April this year, Chirinda stole US$40 from one of his victims.
On the 21st and 26th of the same month, Chirinda stole two motor bikes from different victims.
Chirinda was apprehended at a shopping centre in Nyanga where he was seen in possession of one of the stolen motor bikes.
