Two Chitungwiza armed robbers in court

Two suspected gun-toting robbers who allegedly mugged their victim in broad day light before handcuffing him to his steering wheel have appeared in court facing charges of armed robbery.

Thirty-four-year-old Kudzanai Kadzombe and Emmanuel Zinhuka aged 33, who allegedly pretended to be intelligence officers appeared in court this Monday on charges of armed robbery after using a pistol to instill fear in their victim before robbing him of his valuables.

It is alleged the complainant parked his car by the roadside along the Chitungwiza road to relieve himself when he was approached by the duo.

The court heard that the pair told the complainant they were intelligence officers before demanding to search his vehicle.

It is further alleged the complainant refused to comply and the co-accused produced pistols before stripping him naked and handcuffing him to the steering wheel.

The duo has been remanded in custody to the 9th of next month.

Meanwhile, 38-year-old Andrew Masiiwa who operates a pirate taxi has appeared in court facing charges of rape and robbery after allegedly raping and robbing two women.

The court heard that the accused offered transport to the two women on different days and drove to secluded areas where he rapped and robbed the women.

He was remanded in custody to the 9th of next month.

In another case, suspected armed robber and murderer Aaron Machona, who allegedly killed a 30-year-old Waterfalls woman during a robbery, appeared in court this Tuesday and was remanded in custody to next month.
