The recent dissolution of the Industrial Development Corporation of Zimbabwe (IDCZ) board and current efforts to operationalise Air Zimbabwe have been sighted as key developments dovetailing with the Transitional Stabilisation Programme (TSP) objectives.
As part of the Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy (ZNDIP), the Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Sekai Nzenza dissolved the IDCZ board last week.
The move is in line with government reforms under the Transitional Stabilisation Programme (TSP) to drive state-owned enterprises growth.
Economic analyst Mr Titus Mukove says government reforms underway are meant to bring efficiency.
“The general objectives of these reforms is to increase economic activity and enhancing job creation,” he said.
Another economic analyst Mr Batanai Matsika also noted with satisfaction developments at Air Zimbabwe where the government intervened and acquired two aircraft suitable for domestic and international routes.
“The stance shows the great desire by government to resuscitate state owned enterprises such that they contribute fully to economic matters of the country,” he said
The massive government reforms are expected to unlock the full economic value of state-owned enterprises and achieve the set targets for vision 2030.
