THIRTEEN districts in Zimbabwe are set to be affected by a tropical storm named Ana, which is expected to hit Mozambique from this Monday.
The national emergency services sub-committee held a meeting this morning with focus on preparedness and response to tropical depression Ana which is in Mozambique and will affect 13 districts spreading across Manicaland, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Central Provinces.
Meteorological Services Department Head of Forecast, James Ngoma briefed the panel that the storm will be associated with strong winds and heavy downpours in areas such as Mutare, Chipinge and Nyanga.
Civil Protection Unit Director, Nathan Nkomo says government has put in place disaster response mechanisms such as setting up evacuation centres in Chipinge and Chimanimani.
