THE Women’s Premier Soccer League has reached a thrilling stage, with the top three teams locked in a fierce battle for supremacy.
Chapungu Queens, Platinum Royals, and reigning champions Herentals Queens are all tied on 21 points, with goal difference being the only factor separating them.
Chapungu Queens currently sit at the top of the table after playing eight matches, with an impressive record of 7 wins and one loss.
However, they cannot afford to relax, as Platinum Royals and Herentals Queens have played 7 games each and have collected maximum points in all those encounters.
This means that Chapungu’s lead is precarious, and their closest rivals can easily surge ahead if they capitalise on their game in hand, while Herentals are waiting for the determination of their match against Kwekwe United which was not played due to a bad field.
Black Rhinos Queens are hot on the heels of the top three, sitting fourth with 19 points. Correctional Queens follow closely with 18 points, setting the stage for an intense battle for a top-four finish.
Sheasham Gweru Queens on 12, Faith Drive on 9, and Maningi Youth Academy on seven points round up the top eight.
At the bottom of the table, Cranborne Royals and Conduit Academy are tied on 4 points each, while Black Mambas Queens and Red Buffalo Queens struggle to earn their first point of the season.
