Theft and robbery land Harare man in the dock

A suspected serial robber who is facing 17 counts of theft and robbery appeared in court this Monday after he was arrested for causing terror in Harare.

It is alleged that Shepherd Kombe and his accomplices targeted several homes in Harare and got away with cash and other valuables.

The accused who used the same modus operandi to commit other offences in the Capital was remanded in custody to this Tuesday for bail application.

Meanwhile, Cosmas Vheremu appeared in court on charges of robbery after he allegedly attacked the complainant demanding cash and valuables after threatening his victim with death.

He was remanded in custody.

Still at the courts, a suspected bogus lawyer Beaven Chipunza appeared in court for allegedly misrepresenting to a Norton Magistrate that he was a lawyer.

It is alleged Chipunza presented himself before the magistrate as the legal representative of an accused person but failed to produce a valid practicing certificate to substantiate his claims.

He was granted ZWL15 000 bail.
