The Zimbabwe Women National Cricket team has intensified preparations for the T20 World Cup Qualifiers set for Botswana from the 7th to the 20th of next month.
The team is currently in a bio secure bubble camp preparing to take on Thailand in four One Day matches and three T20 internationals that will serve as preparation for the World Cup qualifiers set for Botswana.
With the Lady Chevrons largely expected to win the tournament in Botswana, their biggest opponent will be complacency.
On paper the Africa qualifiers look easy but we are not taking anything for granted remember 2017 we missed by three runs so we are working hard to make sure we are the winners, said Head Coach Adam Chifo.
The team has been boosted by the return of Captain Mary-Anne Musonda, who has been out injured, as well as senior players Chipo Mugeri Tiripano, Ashley Ndiraya, Nomatter Mutasa and Lorraine Tshuma who have not been available for various reasons.
The Lady Chevrons will host Thailand at Takashinga Cricket Ground in Harare with the first One Day match set for this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Emerging Team is struggling in Namibia after losing the first two T20s to Namibia Eagles.
