SUSPENDED Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner Erasmus Makodza’s judgement on the matter in which he faces criminal abuse of office charges has been postponed to next month.
Makodza is appearing before a Harare magistrate charged with criminal abuse of office charges emanating from his alleged leasing of a ZRP farm in Marondera without his employer’s knowledge and converting the proceeds for personal use.
However, the court postponed the judgement on the matter to March 18.
When he appeared in court, Makodza denied the charges, arguing that all the witnesses who testified before the courts concurred that he did not in any way participate in the transaction and did not influence the deal.
The top cop also argued that he did not do anything contrary to his duties as a public officer.
