A 22-year-old Harare man has appeared in court facing a litany of charges related to carjacking and armed robbery.
Atipaishe Sibanda, who allegedly used various weapons including a pistol and a knife to instill fear in his victims before robbing them, made his initial appearance in court this Friday.
The suspect appeared in court coming from hospital after he was arrested in a shootout with the police.
The court heard that Sibanda committed various offenses after pretending to be a passenger before using a pistol or knife to threaten his victims.
It is alleged that he robbed his victims of other valuables including cash, laptops and mobile phones.
He was remanded in custody to next month.
