180 exhibitors have booked space for this year’s Mining, Engineering and Transport Expo (Mine Entra) which gets underway on 20th of this month.
This year’s edition of Mine Entra which will be officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa is promising to be bigger and better with 180 exhibitors having confirmed participation.
Hosted by ZITF, the Company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ms Stella Nkomo says engagement conferences will give mining companies and small scale miners an opportunity to interface and conduct business with suppliers of mining equipment.
“This year’s edition of Mine Entra is different in that while tools of the industry will be available for miners, the interface involving all stakeholders will help the country as we walk towards the US$12 billion mining economy, but most important is the fact that President Mnangagwa will officiate in this year’s event and also lead discussions at the Mine Entra business conference , a development that will see all issues of concern being addressed,” she said.
She added that there will also be an indaba for small scale miners presided over by the Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Hon Winston Chitando on the first day of the expo.
Meanwhile, the Mina Entra has also boosted the tourism industry with most hotels in Bulawayo almost fully booked as confirmed by the Chairperson of the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe Bulawayo chapter, Mrs Amanda Mathema.
“Major hotels in the city are almost fully booked for MineEntra, but the good thing is that there a number of good lodges in the city that have accommodation to account for more clients that we are expecting during this time,” she noted.
This year’s expo runs under the theme: ‘Explore, Extract, Expand, Towards Sustainable Mining Value Chains.’
