SUNGURA music enthusiasts are in for a treat, with a show featuring the country’s top Sungura musicians billed for the end of the month.

An array of Sungura musicians who include Sungura king Alick Macheso and the man who is challenging him to the throne, Mark Ngwazi as well as Sulumani Chimbetu among others, will showcase one of the country’s most celebrated music genres at the Harare International Conference Centre end of this month.

“Sungura is by far one of the most respected genres in the country and deserves a big stage and a big world class experience for the audience.

“We will throw in Sungura, a bit of Jiti and Kanindo in the bit. Alick Macheso will be there and some of the best Sungura musicians in the country,” said Elton Kurima, Gateway Streams Music manager.

Apart from the Sungura clash, Jiti and Kanindo musicians like Shantel Sithole are also set to be part of the music fete.

The show is expected to be one of the largest sungura concerts to be held in the country in the past five years.
