Hip Hop musician, Desmond Chideme, popularly known as Stunner appeared in court this Tuesday facing charges of assaulting his wife.
The 41-year-old Stunner appeared in court this Tuesday facing charges of physical abuse after he allegedly assaulted his 23-year-old wife, Dione Tafirenyika.
It is alleged that Stunner assaulted his wife after she refused to give him her mobile phone.
The court heard that Stunner slapped his wife before plucking out her artificial nails.
Stunner, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was remanded out of custody to the 11th of May for trial.
Meanwhile, CCC activists Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri’s bid for Chief Magistrate, Mrs Faith Mushure to recuse herself from presiding over their ongoing trial hit a snag this Tuesday after the application was thrown out for lack of merit.
The pair argued that the magistrate had dismissed five of their applications and she was a respondent in applications for review of the rulings before the upper courts.
In dismissing the application, Magistrate Mushure noted that she was impartial in handling the trial and the application had failed to qualify on grounds for recusal.
Mamombe and Chimbiri‘s trial in which they are accused of falsely claiming to have been abducted by state security agents will continue next week on Tuesday.
