Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

LEGENDARY former Warriors captain, Peter Ndlovu has been named in the African Legends team that is set to take on the Chipolopolo Legends this Saturday at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia.

Voice: The former Birmingham and Coventry City forward is the only Zimbabwean in the African team that is dominated by West Africans.

Ndlovu holds the record of being the first African player to feature in the revamped English Premier League when he turned out for Coventry City in 1992.

Ndlovu, who captained the Warriors at their first-ever African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in 2004, is also Zimbabwe’s leading scorer with 34 goals for the national team.

The African Legends side also features the likes of former Cameroon striker Patrick Mboma, Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan, former Senegalese star El Hadji Diof and Nigerian legends Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, among others.

The home side will have the likes of Christopher Katongo, Stopira Sunzu and Raymond Kalaba among others who brought AFCON glory to Zambia back in 2012.

Former Chipolopolo skipper, Football Association of Zambia President and Coach Kalusha Bwalya together with Togolese Legend Emmanuel Adebayor will be first to arrive in Lusaka this Thursday with the other legends expected a day later.
