A Special envoy from the Republic of South Korea is in Zimbabwe to canvas for support in their bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

The four-member delegation, led by the president and chief executive officer of automotive giant, Kia Corporation, Ho Sung Song, paid a courtesy call on Acting President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga this Wednesday.

Several issues came under discussion, ranging from South Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo to trade cooperation between Zimbabwe and South Korea.

“Korea and Busan want to host the 2030 World Expo and we were respectfully asking the Acting President to support our bid. We also discussed several areas of trade cooperation which include the areas of mining,” he said.

Other countries which have submitted their bids to host the World Expo 2030 include Italy, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia.
