THE increase in the number of murder cases involving instant justice and sexual abuse has become a major source of worry in Marondera, with the Zimbabwe Republic Police recording six such cases in the past 10 days.

The latest case is the murder of a 45-year-old woman who was found dead near Grasslands Research Station in Marondera this Wednesday.

The murder cases are being attributed to instant justice for those related to men, while women were allegedly sexually abused before being killed.

Of the six cases, two suspects have already been apprehended including a 19-year-old commercial sex worker who allegedly killed a 14-year-old boy in Nyameni over a payment dispute, and the other who beheaded a woman in Mudzi.

Statistics indicate that 50 people lost their lives to murder in 2021 in Mashonaland East, while 63 cases of murder were recorded in 2020.
