Sha Sha scoops prestigious BET award

SOUTH African based musician, Sha Sha has become the first Zimbabwean to win a bet award after walking away with the viewers choice best new international act.
The Zimbabwean songstress got the prestigious award decided by fans ahead of Rema from Nigeria, Celeste, Young T and Bugsey from the United Kingdom as well as Hatik and Sracy from France.
The bet awards is an American award show established in 2001 by the black entertainment television network to celebrate African Americans and other Africans in music, acting, and other fields of entertainment.
Born Charmaine Mapambiro and popularly known in the music circles as SHA SHA, the 27-year-old South African based Zimbabwean musician banged her first international accolade, taking the Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act at the prestigious BET awards in the United States this Sunday.
The Amapiano star, who becomes the first Zimbabwean to bring a BET award home, attributed her success to her fans and Zimbabweans at large who voted for her.
Congratulatory messages from arts stakeholders, fans and fellow musicians have been pouring since last night. However, a snap survey by this news crew revealed that some Zimbabweans actually thought that the songstress is South African.
Sha Sha has gone a step further after the nomination of US-based singer, Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe in the best new artist category in 2015.
