The schools’ information communication technology programme is gaining momentum, with the government taking it to eight schools in Harare.
Eight schools in Harare have benefited from Government’s schools ICT laboratories programme, with the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Honourable Jenfan Muswere having commissioned an ICT lab at Budiriro one and Glenview one secondary schools.
The ICT labs are being equipped with laptops and an internet connection.
Minister Muswere is also expected to commission more laboratories at other Harare based schools that include Harare High School, ZRP High school and Southerton primary schools.
He highlighted that the programme is part of digitising schools and the country in line with the government’s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy One.
Dr Muswere also confirmed the government’s target to have thirty schools benefitting from the programme every week.
The programme will be rolled out to more than eight thousand schools in Zimbabwe.
