Saudi Arabia seeks Zim’s backing to host Expo 2030

THE Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed gratitude to Zimbabwe for supporting its bid to host Expo 2030.

After a successful Expo 2020 Dubai, countries are now vying to host Expo 2030.

With four other countries bidding to host the expo, Saudi Arabia says it is thankful to Zimbabwe for support its bid to host the global event.

Advisor to the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Osamah, who paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House this Monday, expressed his country’s bid to host Expo 2030.

“I had the pleasure to meet with the President and express my country’s bid to host Expo 2030. We also spoke of the upcoming Saudi Arabia- Africa summit and the 5th Arab-Africa summit to be hosted by Saudi,” he said.

Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia signed agreements to establish diplomatic relations in December 2020 driven by the need to strengthen relations and expand areas of cooperation for the economic development of the two countries.
