SOUTH Africa has recorded 331 new COVID-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours. The total related fatalities now stand at 85 779.
The country also reports a further 4 215 new infections. Total cases now stand at 2 873 415.
45 342 tests were also conducted in the last reporting cycle, reflecting a 9.3% positivity rate. The positivity rate is the percentage of people testing positive of the total people tested.
South Africa has the highest number of cases on the African continent.
Currently, worldwide cases of COVID-19 are over 219 million, with related deaths surpassing the 4.55 million mark.
