Outgoing South African Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mphakama Mbete bade farewell to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Retired Lieutenant General, Dr Sibusiso Moyo in Harare this Wednesday.
Speaking after meeting the Honourable Minister, Ambassador Mbete said the discussion was a reflection on the bilateral relations between the two countries.
“I have been here for four and a half years now. The discussion with the Minister is a quick reflection on the bilateral relations between the two countries and how these are moving very smoothly to the future despite many difficulties that both countries have experienced in the past and the need for these to be strengthened as we move towards a very important institution called the AfCTA which will be launched in January.”
On Trade and Investment opportunities, the outgoing South African Ambassador said he expects more South African companies to invest in Zimbabwe.
“As I prepared to leave, I met South African companies operating in the country and we reflected on the importance of bringing even more companies from South Africa to come into Zimbabwe to invest because our countries will only develop if the economies of both countries grow.”
The South African Ambassador’s tour of duty is coming to end after serving in Zimbabwe for four and a half years.
