The Presidential Borehole Drilling Programme has changed lives in Binga, with villagers now accessing clean and safe drinking water at convenient points.

When President Emmerson Mnangagwa launched the Presidential Borehole Drilling Programme in March this year, the aim was to provide clean drinking water and a reliable supply for community gardens in line with Vision 2030.

Just a few months after the launch of the programme, gratitude is written on the faces of the beneficiaries after the dream was achieved in record time.

“We used to travel long distances uphill that side to go get water. It is now at our doorstep,” a villager said.

“This is very important to us and we thank government for providing water,” another villager said.

Under the scheme, boreholes have been sunk in areas under three traditional leaders, including Chief Siabuwa, Chief Sinampande and Chief Sinakoma.

A further fourteen boreholes for 14 chiefs will also be availed.

The Presidential Borehole Drilling Programme dovetails with the government mantra of leaving no one and no place behind in the national development matrix.
