President tours US$15 million Palm River Lodge

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has toured the US$15 million dollar Palm River Lodge which is currently under construction and is envisaged to enhance the attractiveness of the country’s premier tourism destination.

The multi-million dollar project which is currently around 50% complete is expected to be officially opened in July 2021.

The investment project is part of the private sector’ s response to  government’s plea for additional rooms in Victoria Falls in order to avert room deficit.

Officially launching the National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the strategy will facilitate robust investment into the tourism sector and create employment and help support livelihoods.

The tourism sector has been the biggest beneficiary of  the Zimbabwe is Open for Business Mantra with many investors currently exploring opportunities in the Victoria Falls Special Economic Zone.
