President promotes Liutenant Colonels to Colonels

THE Commander-In-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted seven Lieutenant Colonels to Colonels.

The promoted Colonels are Banabas Simbarashe Tera, Anderson Chibvongodze, James Dumezweni Moyo, Passmore Taruodzera, Jabulani Mulambo, Edward Mataga and James Matonda.

They were conferred with the new ranks by the Chief of Staff General Staff, Major General Kasirai Tazira at an Investiture Ceremony held at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks this Thursday.

Major General Tazira who was standing in for Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant General David Sigauke, commended the senior officers for diligently executing their duties in the Zimbabwe National Army.

“Your promotion is a testimony that you posses the required qualities and attributes of military attributes at senior level. Your recognition of such an esteemed rank and appointments is a result of a foolproof, thorough, and exhaustive assessment by the Command Element,” said Mjor-General Tazira.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted Colonels, Colonel Passmore Taruodzera promised to remain loyal to both the organisation and the country.
