The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, has declared the end of the Public Calamity Situation in his country and announced a Public Health Emergency.
President Nyusi also announced that the use of masks is no longer mandatory in open places.
“However, in closed places and on public transport, the use of a mask remains mandatory. Children up to 11 years of age are exempt from wearing the mask,” Nyusi said.
The reduction in the positivity rate, the bed occupancy rate and the daily average of cases dictated the taking of these measures.
Regarding travel, President Nyusi noted that passengers and crew, who enter the country, must present a certificate that proves complete vaccination or a PCR test with a negative result that will have been done 72 hours ago.
