President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent a message of condolence to the Tshovani family and the Chiredzi community following the death of Chief Tshovani this Tuesday.
In a statement, President Mnangagwa described the late Chief Tshovani as an advocate of broad-based empowerment for the Chiredzi community after years of colonial neglect and marginalisation.
President Mnangagwa assured the Chiredzi community that government will continue with the transformation of the area, starting with the speedy completion of the dam and bridge construction projects in Chilonga.
The late Chief Tshovani has been accorded a State assisted funeral.
Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa has mourned the late Brigadier General Retired Fidelis Satuku who died on Monday.
In his condolence message to the Satuku family, President Mnangagwa described the late Brigadier General, whose Chimurenga name was George Mckenzie as a distinguished freedom fighter during the struggle for liberation from colonial rule.
He said the late Brigadier General Retired Satuku, who was attested into the Zimbabwe National Army at independence, participated in many regional peace-making operations.
