Nine Southern and Central African countries, including Zimbabwe have pledged to double their efforts towards the sustainable and integrated management of Miombo woodlands, which form a vast region of tropical grasslands, savannas and shrub lands in several countries.
The commitment was confirmed by the signing of an agreement on protecting the forests by regional leaders including President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Maputo, Mozambique this Friday.
