President Mnangagwa hosts “Presidential thanksgiving day” this Friday

THE President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to host the “President’s Special National Day of Thanksgiving” this Friday morning at state house in the capital.
The day will be dedicated to thanksgiving to God and prayer as the nation acknowledges the almighty God’s intervention which has seen the country’s fortunes take an undeniable turn for the better. In a statement, the Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidential Communications, Cde George Charamba said the President is inviting fellow countrymen and women, both at home and abroad, individuals, families, groups, workplaces, churches and all other institutions to the special thanksgiving service from 10am to 1pm.
The main event will be held at State House and all are free to join via virtual platforms which include ZBCtv, ZBC Newsonline facebook page and ZTN.
“Although we mourn every life lost through the Covid-19 pandemic, we are thankful for the continued mercies, grace and favour which the almighty God has bestowed upon our great nation. Our country has been blessed this agricultural season with abundant rains from which a bumper harvest is expected. Furthermore, we continue to enjoy an atmosphere of peace, unity and harmony, as well as visible rewards in our efforts to rebuild, modernise and industrialise our country,” read part of the statement.
Last winter, the President together with religious leaders of various denominations held a prayer and fasting day as the nation sought God for divine intervention in the face of the Covid-19 and other challenges that the country was facing.
